Optimize Score
How are the Optimize rules calculated when scheduling Activities to the Resources?
Optimize Score: the Optimize Score is a numerical value that is calculated for what priority that Activity will have when scheduling. Activities with higher Scores are selected to schedule ahead of those with lower Scores, subject to constraints. The Score is the value at the simulated time during the Optimization when the Activity is scheduled.
Note: Many Scores change over time (when using date related factors for example) making it possible for Activities with lower Scores to be scheduled earlier than Activities with higher Scores. This is due to the fact that at the time of simulation, the Scores may have been different, due to constraints or other factor that may have changed since then.
Optimize Score Details: This is a descriptive breakdown of the different factors (Need Date, Priority, etc.) that comprise the Score. Each Score details each factor’s points and a percentage indicating what fraction the one factor makes up of the total points contributing to the Score (positive and negative points). Only factors with a non-zero factor value are shown. Factors are sorted in order of decreasing percentage to show the highest-impact factors earlier.
Note: Each factor value includes the impact of the factor’s Weight already. For example: ” Earliest Job NeedDate: 200 (66%), Lowest Priority Nbr:100 (33%)” would mean that that the Earliest Job Need Date contributed 200 points to the score and made up 66% of the total points (300).
Other things to know about Optimize Score:
- Values are based on the last time the Activity was evaluated for scheduling durin ghte Optimization.
- The new fields are Published
- the new fields are serialized so they are preserved between sessions.
- The Optimize Score Details are localized to the language of the PC. These values are stored in the Scenario in the language in which they were created on the serer. Starting the client will show the values as stored on the server. Each Optimization recreates the values in the User’s language preference.
What Does this Affect?
These values can be seen:
- In the Activity Properties window
- In the Publish Database
- In Labels
- In Tooltips
