Introduction
Making changes to the Gantt and being able to see changes immediately reflected in the schedule are powerful tools when scheduling, but in most cases, there are far too many open Jobs on the Gantt to be able to reliably every effect of every scheduling change, especially over long periods of time. The Impact Monitor allows the planner to see just that: the effect that every change has on the schedule, both positive and negative.
Key Concepts
Populating the Impact Monitor
The Impact Monitor is closely tied to the KPI PaneĀ in that the KPI Pane is what is used to populate the Impact Monitor. There are a number of different ways the two screens can interact with each other.
- The Impact Monitor can be triggered to show the total changes after each Optimization
- The Impact Monitor can be triggered to show the effects of every Schedule Change, like Operations being moved, Jobs being expedited, Capacity Intervals being changed, etc.
- From the KPI Pane, any point on the graph can be a trigger for the Impact Monitor to show the aggregate impact of the changes made after that point.
The Information Shown
There are three categories of informationt hat the Impact Monitor will show:
- Changed Jobs: Any Jobs that have had the changes to their Hot Flags, Lateness, Need Date, Priority, or Scheduled End will be shown on the Impact Monitor
- Added Jobs: Any Jobs that have been recently added but not scheduled are listed.
- Deleted Jobs: Any Jobs that have been deleted from the Scenario are listed.
